  Pac Man Frogs have become increasingly popular in the local market, their variety of coloration like apricot red, albino golden, forest green make them a hot sellers. Love at first sight will be best to describe those who buy them the moment they saw this adorable , cute little frog.


Description from Wikipedia 

"Ceratophrys is a genus of frogs in the family Leptodactylidae, subfamily Ceratophryinae. They are also known as South American horned frogs as well as Pacman frogs due to their characteristically large mouth and abdomen, thus resembling the video game character Pac-Man."



Live Span

  With proper caring, they can live up to 15 years in captive.



Size

  Males are generally smaller than female, average size of Pac Man frog is around 2½ inches to 4 inches in length .



Breeding

  There is record of successful captive breeding , but sexing is very hard.

Caring and Behavior 

  Pac Man frog is consider a hardy frog species, making them an ideal pet frog for beginners. Their requirement is not too high, you will need to make sure that the frogs get enough water and the air is moisture enough for them, especially when the surrounding temperature is high. They do not have a specific requirement of certain temperature, room temperature will be ok. Do keep in mind that they dislike long period of direct sunlight, or you will have a dry ready-salted pac man frog for dinner. 

  Pac man frog have sensitive skin, DO NOT touch them too often as we will damage their skin, do be aware that once a frog get hurt, they will be easily affected by bacteria and fungi, it will take a long time to heal, some might not even heal at all. Another reason why you should not touch them is because they are really really aggressive, it will not hesitate to bite your finger and it is not fun at all, they do have teeth which known to be very rough like glass paper, big frog will certainly draw blood. by the way, they do not have venom.



Food

  Pac man frog generally eat anything that move and will fit into their mouth, hence the name Pac Man frog. You can try feeding them feeder fish, mealworm, cricket or shrimp. A diet consisting of different food is encourage for them. For small frog, a meal once a day will be sufficient while for adult frog, once every two or three day will be suitable, try not to overfeed your frog. 



Settlement

  You can keep them in a fish tank or specially design tortoise tank with water not over their nose, it is not sure whether they will drown or not if there are too much water. Some owners keep them in dry fish tank with a bowl of water.
